Information

The Westside Warrior Marching Band received a Superior (I) at all the contests participated in, including the Plattsmouth Marching Invitational, the Omaha Marching Invitational, and the Nebraska State Bandmaster's Association marching band contest.  At State, Westside receive one of the highest scores out of the 63 bands that participated.

This year was an extraordiary one in that there were a record three squads that received the prestigious award of GOD SQUAD.  God Squad is an award given to the squad that has demonstrated excellence above and beyond the call of duty.   This includes marching and maneuvering, musicality, attitude, and spirit.

They were the Alto Saxes, Clarinets, and Drumline.
CONGRATULATIONS!

Beyond the scores and awards, this year's marching band has been one of the best ever (and yes, I know that is said every year.)  This marching band has really come together as a family, which is a good thing, because we spend alot of time together.  Speaking of which....

Happily, the season does not end on 10/30/01, Westside is performing for the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas in December.  We will be competing there for one of the slots in the pre-game show.  Wish us luck!
